In value terms, bearing exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 242% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of bearing exports from Belgium, together comprising 42% of total exports. These countries were followed by France, Poland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Brazil, Spain, Japan, Austria, Finland and the Czech Republic, which together accounted for a further 41%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Japan (with a CAGR of +26.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 7.6% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of ball and roller bearings increased by 19% to X tons, rising for the sixth year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 51%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
