Turkey (X tons) was the main destination for denatured ethyl alcohol exports from Belgium, with a 40% share of total exports. In value terms, denatured ethyl alcohol imports rose slightly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2021, the Netherlands (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of denatured ethyl alcohol to Belgium, with a 62% share of total imports. Moreover, denatured ethyl alcohol imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, South Africa (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by France (X tons), with an 11% share.
