In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Belgian methanol market, when its value decreased by -12.2% to $X. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, methanol imports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted pronounced growth.
