Germany (X tons) was the main destination for playing cards exports from Belgium, accounting for a 43% share of total exports. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany stood at +9.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (-1.3% per year) and the United States (+20.9% per year).

The average playing cards export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 24%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Luxembourg ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Belgium
After six years of growth, overseas purchases of playing cards decreased by -75% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 258%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, playing cards imports shrank markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 283% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
Imports by Country
The United States (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of playing cards imports to Belgium, with a combined 71% share of total imports. Poland, France and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 23%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +32.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
