The Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of preserved cows meat exports from Belgium, with a combined 85% share of total exports. The UK, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Italy and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 11%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +121.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third year in a row, Belgium recorded decline in purchases abroad of prepared or preserved meat or offal of bovine animals, which decreased by -12% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a perceptible slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 18%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, preserved cows meat imports shrank to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a mild slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 19%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

The Netherlands (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved cows meat imports to Belgium, together comprising 67% of total imports.
