The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 63%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Belgium
In 2021, purchases abroad of thermostats increased by 22% to X units, rising for the third year in a row after five years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, thermostat imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +43.3% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of thermostat to Belgium, accounting for a 50% share of total imports.
