Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, passenger car tyre exports rose sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 12%. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

France (X units), Germany (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main destinations of passenger car tyre exports from Belgium, together accounting for 53% of total exports. Italy, Sweden, Poland, Spain, Luxembourg, the UK, the Czech Republic and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.

In general, imports, however, recorded a mild downturn. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, passenger car tyre imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible setback. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China (X units), Germany (X units) and France (X units) were the main suppliers of passenger car tyre imports to Belgium, with a combined 43% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Sweden, Spain, Romania and Japan, which together accounted for a further 47%.
