In value terms, uncooked pasta exports reached $X in 2021. In general, total exports indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +66.6% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 16%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The UK (X tons), France (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main destinations of uncooked pasta exports from Belgium, together comprising 78% of total exports. Germany, Sweden, Luxembourg and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ireland (with a CAGR of +38.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of uncooked pasta to Belgium, accounting for a 51% share of total imports. Moreover, uncooked pasta imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Greece (X tons), threefold. The Netherlands (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.
