In value terms, bedspread exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 166% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The Netherlands was the major exporter of bedspreads (excluding eiderdowns) in Benelux, with the volume of exports reaching X units, which was approx. 70% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X units), creating a 30% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to bedspread exports from the Netherlands stood at -11.0%. Belgium (-3.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Belgium (+13 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the Netherlands (-13.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
