In 2022, crude oil exports in Benelux shrank sharply to X tons, dropping by -58.3% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, exports continue to indicate a pronounced setback. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then fell sharply in the following year.

The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the crude petroleum oil exports, with a CAGR of -2.1% from 2012 to 2022. While the share of the Netherlands (+4.8 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, leveling off in the following year.
