Filter Paper Market Size in Benelux

The Benelux filter paper market reduced slightly to $X in 2021, flattening at the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the market value increased by 9.9%. The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the filter paper and paperboard cut to shape exports, with a CAGR of +3.5% from 2012 to 2021. Belgium (-8.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (+9.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Belgium (-9.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In 2021, overseas purchases of filter paper and paperboard cut to shape decreased by -19.2% to X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Overall, imports saw a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 45%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
