Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 62% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, starch glue imports rose modestly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 47%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

The Netherlands was the largest importing country with an import of around X tons, which reached 72% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X tons), creating a 24% share of total imports. Luxembourg (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
