Hazelnut Market Size in Benelux

In 2021, the Benelux hazelnut market decreased by -12.2% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, consumption, however, enjoyed noticeable growth. The export price in Benelux stood at $X per ton in 2021, declining by -2.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2021, the amount of hazelnuts imported in Benelux shrank significantly to X tons, falling by -24.1% on 2020. In general, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 171%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, hazelnut imports reduced markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 150%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The Netherlands was the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which finished at 65% of total imports. Belgium (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 27% share, followed by Luxembourg (8.7%).
