Luxembourg (X units) and Belgium (X units) represented roughly 70% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (X units), achieving a 30% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Luxembourg (with a CAGR of +24.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, purchases abroad of industrial robots for multiple uses was finally on the rise to reach X units after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 84%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, industrial robot imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -16.2% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 40%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
