Belgium dominates exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 94% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons), constituting a 5.6% share of total exports.

Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of jute and jute-like fibers. At the same time, the Netherlands (+4.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Benelux, with a CAGR of +4.3% from 2012-2022. The Netherlands (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Belgium saw its share reduced by -2.1% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, Belgium ($X) remains the largest jute and jute-like fibers supplier in Benelux, comprising 74% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 26% share of total exports.

In 2022, approx. X tons of jute and jute-like fibers were imported in Benelux; which is down by -14.8% on the year before. In general, imports, however, posted a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 116%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, jute and jute-like fibers imports fell to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded significant growth.
