Total exports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +51.3% against 2013 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

The Netherlands represented the main exporting country with an export of around X units, which resulted at 84% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X units), generating a 16% share of total exports.
The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the lifts, elevators, moving stairways and draglines exports, with a CAGR of +9.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Belgium (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. The Netherlands (+12 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Belgium saw its share reduced by -11.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

After six years of growth, overseas purchases of lifts, elevators, moving stairways and draglines decreased by -9.8% to X units in 2022. Total imports indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +74.9% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, lift, elevator, stairway and dragline imports reached $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The Netherlands was the major importer of lifts, elevators, moving stairways and draglines in Benelux, with the volume of imports reaching X units, which was near 74% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X units), generating a 22% share of total imports. Luxembourg (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the lifts, elevators, moving stairways and draglines imports, with a CAGR of +6.1% from 2012 to 2022. Luxembourg and Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
