Mixed Juices Market Size in Benelux

The Benelux mixed juices market skyrocketed to $X in 2022, rising by 23% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, mixed juices production fell to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, showed a noticeable contraction. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mixed juices exports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -29.6% against 2020 indices. In 2022, the Netherlands (X tons) represented the main exporter of mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices, generating 76% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X tons), making up a 23% share of total exports.

The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices exports, with a CAGR of +4.3% from 2012 to 2022. Belgium (-1.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (+11 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Belgium (-12.2 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the largest mixed juices supplier in Benelux, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belgium ($X), with a 15% share of total exports.

In the Netherlands, mixed juices exports expanded at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2012-2022.

In 2022, the export price in Benelux amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 20%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Belgium totaled $X per ton.

Imports in Benelux

For the fifth year in a row, Benelux recorded decline in overseas purchases of mixtures of fruit and vegetable juices, which decreased by -2.6% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports showed a noticeable decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, mixed juices imports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Belgium represented the largest importing country with an import of around X tons, which reached 61% of total imports. It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons), generating a 36% share of total imports. Luxembourg (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Belgium (with a CAGR of +1.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

In value terms, Belgium ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Luxembourg ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022.

Luxembourg, with a CAGR of +0.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

In 2022, the import price in Benelux amounted to $X per ton, declining by -5.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the import price increased by 20%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Luxembourg ($X per ton), while Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Luxembourg (+3.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
