In value terms, nonwoven fabric exports reduced to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +70.6% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

The Netherlands was the major exporting country with an export of around X tons, which reached 66% of total exports. Belgium (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an 18% share, followed by Luxembourg (16%).

The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the nonwoven fabrics exports, with a CAGR of +11.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Luxembourg (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Belgium (-1.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, nonwoven fabric imports stood at $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +69.4% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 24%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
