The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

In value terms, exports of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses fell modestly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 52%. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses decreased by -18.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the export price increased by 48% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses declined to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 20% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Imports by Country

The Netherlands (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) dominates hoses structure, together mixing up 98% of total imports. Luxembourg (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Belgium (with a CAGR of +5.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses in Benelux, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 29% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in the Netherlands stood at +13.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (+2.3% per year) and Luxembourg (+0.6% per year).

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+11.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
