The Netherlands dominates exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 96% of total exports in 2022. Belgium (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the peas (green) exports, with a CAGR of -2.0% from 2012 to 2022. Belgium (-22.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (+28 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Belgium (-28 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the largest green peas supplier in Benelux, comprising 94% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 5.5% share of total exports.
In the Netherlands, green peas exports expanded at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2012-2022.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Benelux stood at $X per ton in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the export price increased by 93%. Belgium was the largest importing country with an import of about X tons, which amounted to 76% of total imports. It was distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons), creating a 24% share of total imports.
Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of peas (green). The Netherlands (-4.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Belgium increased by +11 percentage points.
