The Netherlands represented the key exporter of plastic doors, windows and their frames in Benelux, with the volume of exports resulting at X units, which was approx. 55% of total exports in 2022. Luxembourg (X units) took a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Belgium (20%).

In 2022, the export price in Benelux amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -19.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded tangible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 62%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while Luxembourg ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in Benelux
After five years of growth, overseas purchases of plastic doors, windows and their frames decreased by -43.2% to X units in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a moderate expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2021, and then declined markedly in the following year.
In value terms, plastic doors and windows imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded slight growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then fell sharply in the following year.

The Netherlands was the largest importing country with an import of around X units, which reached 67% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Luxembourg (X units) and Belgium (X units), together achieving a 33% share of total imports.
The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the plastic doors, windows and their frames imports, with a CAGR of +10.2% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Luxembourg (+4.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Belgium (-8.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Netherlands (+27 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belgium saw its share reduced by -27.8% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
