Imports into Belgium increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the Netherlands (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Benelux, with a CAGR of +1.8% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Luxembourg (-4.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Belgium (+2.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Luxembourg (-4.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Belgium ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported synthetic rubber (excluding latex) in Benelux, comprising 68% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with a 27% share of total imports.
