Exports in Benelux

In 2022, exports of test benches in Benelux shrank notably to X units, with a decrease of -22.7% on the year before. In general, exports saw a mild curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 53%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, test bench exports reduced remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a notable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 72% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The Netherlands represented the main exporter of test benches in Benelux, with the volume of exports resulting at X units, which was approx. 79% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X units), achieving a 20% share of total exports.

The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the test benches exports, with a CAGR of -1.4% from 2012 to 2022. Belgium (-1.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the largest test bench supplier in Benelux, comprising 74% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belgium ($X), with a 24% share of total exports.

In the Netherlands, test bench exports increased at an average annual rate of +3.8% over the period from 2012-2022.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Benelux stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 5.4% against the previous year. Export price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, test bench export price decreased by -13.1% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the export price increased by 59%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while the Netherlands amounted to $X per unit.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+5.3%).

Imports in Benelux

In 2022, overseas purchases of test benches decreased by -23.5% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +48.4% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 66%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then fell significantly in the following year.

In value terms, test bench imports declined notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 65% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

Imports by Country

Belgium prevails in imports structure, recording X units, which was near 84% of total imports in 2022. The Netherlands (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Luxembourg (X units). All these countries together took approx. 16% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to test bench imports into Belgium stood at +5.5%. At the same time, the Netherlands (+9.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Benelux, with a CAGR of +9.9% from 2012-2022. Luxembourg experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the Netherlands increased by +3.4 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Belgium ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported test benches in Benelux, comprising 62% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 22% share of total imports.

In Belgium, test bench imports increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+4.7% per year) and Luxembourg (+13.8% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Benelux stood at $X per unit in 2022, dropping by -7.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 33%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2021 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Luxembourg ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Luxembourg (+13.3%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
