In 2022, after four years of decline, there was significant growth in the Brazilian amplifier market, when its value increased by 6.1% to $X. Overall, consumption, however, showed a deep setback. Amplifier consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Amplifier Production in Brazil
In value terms, amplifier production declined slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, showed a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 3.5%. Amplifier production peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from Brazil
After seven years of growth, overseas shipments of amplifiers decreased by -25.7% to X units in 2022. Overall, exports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 99% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, amplifier exports reduced markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 116% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
Exports by Country
The United States (X units) was the main destination for amplifier exports from Brazil, accounting for a 70% share of total exports. Moreover, amplifier exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Argentina (X units), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Panama (X units), with a 3.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States totaled +41.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Argentina (+28.2% per year) and Panama (+124.7% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for amplifiers exports from Brazil, comprising 80% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Argentina ($X), with a 3% share of total exports. It was followed by Panama, with a 2.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United States amounted to +34.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Argentina (+20.7% per year) and Panama (+95.0% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average amplifier export price amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 12% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average export price increased by 40% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Peru (+11.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Amplifier Imports
Imports into Brazil
In 2022, supplies from abroad of amplifiers decreased by -15.5% to X units, falling for the fifth year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports showed a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 337% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, amplifier imports dropped notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 68% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of amplifier to Brazil, with a 74% share of total imports. Moreover, amplifier imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X units), more than tenfold. Hong Kong SAR (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to -10.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+1.8% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (-18.6% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of amplifiers to Brazil, comprising 77% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 9.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 1.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to +1.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-5.8% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (-16.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average amplifier import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -6.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 83%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the price for Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+13.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
