In terms of the main countries of destination, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +170.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Brazil
For the third year in a row, Brazil recorded decline in purchases abroad of articles of twine, cordage, rope or cables, which decreased by -26% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 89%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, twine product imports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 102% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest twine product supplier to Brazil, accounting for a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, twine product imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hong Kong SAR (X tons), threefold. Paraguay (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 13% share.

The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with an 8.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at -7.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-1.6% per year) and India (+23.4% per year).

The average twine product import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 20% against the previous year. In general, the import price enjoyed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 115% against the previous year.
