Argentina (X tons), Paraguay (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of black printing ink exports from Brazil, with a combined 50% share of total exports. Ecuador, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Antigua and Barbuda, Chile, Uruguay and Venezuela lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 40%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ecuador (with a CAGR of +64.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for black printing ink exported from Brazil were Argentina ($X), Paraguay ($X) and the United States ($X), together comprising 55% of total exports. Ecuador, Bolivia, Uruguay, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Antigua and Barbuda and Venezuela lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.
Among the main countries of destination, the Dominican Republic, with a CAGR of +38.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average black printing ink export price amounted to $X per ton, shrinking by -4.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 112%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Uruguay ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ecuador ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uruguay (+14.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Brazil
In 2022, the amount of black printing ink imported into Brazil expanded sharply to X tons, increasing by 10% on the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 17% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
In value terms, black printing ink imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
India (X tons), Germany (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of black printing ink imports to Brazil, with a combined 59% share of total imports. Spain, the United States, Italy, the UK, South Korea, Switzerland, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the Philippines (with a CAGR of +101.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($X), the UK ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the largest black printing ink suppliers to Brazil, with a combined 34% share of total imports. The Philippines, China, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Switzerland, South Korea, Belgium and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 55%.
In terms of the main suppliers, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +91.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average black printing ink import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 8.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 11%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
