The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 105% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, brassiere, girdle and corset exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Paraguay (X tons), Chile (X tons) and Uruguay (X tons) were the main destinations of brassiere, girdle and corset exports from Brazil, with a combined 56% share of total exports. Bolivia, Peru, the United States, Mexico and Argentina lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Peru (with a CAGR of +54.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Paraguay ($X), Uruguay ($X) and Chile ($X) were the largest markets for brassiere, girdle and corset exported from Brazil worldwide, with a combined 56% share of total exports. Hong Kong SAR (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 2.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled +5.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Sri Lanka (+15.5% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (+5.9% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of brassieres, girdles and corsets to Brazil, comprising 80% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Sri Lanka ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 2.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Sri Lanka (+6.1% per year) and Colombia (+73.3% per year).

The average brassiere, girdle and corset import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, declining by -16.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 8.6% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
