Chandelier Market Size in Brazil

In 2022, the Brazilian chandelier market decreased by -2.5% to $X, falling for the third year in a row after three years of growth. In general, consumption posted a buoyant expansion. Chandelier consumption peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, chandelier production expanded modestly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, showed a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 7.6% against the previous year. In 2022, after ten years of growth, there was decline in shipments abroad of chandeliers, when their volume decreased by -2.8% to X units. In general, exports, however, recorded modest growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 6%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In value terms, chandelier exports declined dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, exports faced a precipitous descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United States (X units) was the main destination for chandelier exports from Brazil, accounting for a 2,163% share of total exports. Moreover, chandelier exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Paraguay (X units), twofold. Argentina (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 185% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States amounted to +7.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Paraguay (+5.4% per year) and Argentina (+19.3% per year).

In value terms, chandelier imports declined dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 47%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then fell notably in the following year.

In 2022, China (X units) was the main supplier of chandelier to Brazil, with a 377% share of total imports. Moreover, chandelier imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Hong Kong SAR (X units), more than tenfold.
