The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, chicken meat exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

China (X tons), Japan (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) were the main destinations of chicken meat exports from Brazil, with a combined 35% share of total exports. Saint Lucia, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, South Korea, Russia, Mexico, Singapore, Hong Kong SAR and Yemen lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Mexico (with a CAGR of +160.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), Japan ($X) and Saint Lucia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for chicken meat exported from Brazil worldwide, together accounting for 39% of total exports. The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Russia, Mexico, the Philippines and Yemen lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 34%.
Mexico, with a CAGR of +160.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average chicken meat export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 16% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a mild decline. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Brazil
For the fifth year in a row, Brazil recorded growth in purchases abroad of chicken meat, which increased by 69% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports showed a resilient increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country
Argentina (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) were the main suppliers of chicken meat imports to Brazil, together accounting for 91% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Singapore (with a CAGR of +83.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Argentina ($X) constituted the largest supplier of chicken meat to Brazil, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Argentina totaled +8.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (+75.6% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+19.8% per year).

In 2021, the average chicken meat import price amounted to $X per ton, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, the import price showed a perceptible shrinkage.
