In value terms, common pottery exports surged to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a remarkable increase. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Argentina (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) were the main destinations of common pottery exports from Brazil, with a combined 55% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Italy (with a CAGR of +96.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for common pottery exported from Brazil were Argentina ($X), Italy ($X) and Colombia ($X), with a combined 46% share of total exports. Spain, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, Bolivia, Mexico and Uruguay lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 33%.
Spain, with a CAGR of +64.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average common pottery export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Paraguay ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Paraguay (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Brazil
In 2022, after six years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of common pottery, when their volume decreased by -22.7% to X tons. Overall, imports continue to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 97% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, common pottery imports declined significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 119% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, India (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of common pottery to Brazil, accounting for a 52% share of total imports. Moreover, common pottery imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Portugal (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Turkey (X tons), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from India amounted to +130.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Portugal (+30.4% per year) and Turkey (+169.0% per year).
In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of common pottery to Brazil, comprising 38% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Portugal ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from India stood at +104.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Portugal (+27.2% per year) and Thailand (+48.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average common pottery import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, common pottery import price increased by +19.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 63% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while the price for India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
