Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Italy ($X per ton) and Uruguay ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($X per ton) and Colombia ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 71% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, copper bars, wire and plates imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable setback. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
