Ether Market Size in Brazil

The Brazilian ether market expanded modestly to $X in 2022, increasing by 4.3% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Ether consumption peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from Brazil

In 2022, approx. X tons of ethers were exported from Brazil; falling by -12.5% on the year before. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 60% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ether exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 119%. Overall, total imports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +70.8% against 2017 indices. In 2022, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest ether supplier to Brazil, accounting for a 48% share of total imports. Moreover, ether imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), threefold. Saudi Arabia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from the United States stood at +3.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+15.5% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+34.8% per year).

The United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of +99.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average ether import price amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 20%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the price for Thailand ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+19.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
