Chile (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Colombia (X tons) were the main destinations of hot-rolled steel products exports from Brazil, with a combined 51% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Turkey (with a CAGR of +747.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for hot-rolled steel products exported from Brazil were Chile ($X), Colombia ($X) and Turkey ($X), with a combined 49% share of total exports.

Turkey, with a CAGR of +711.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average hot-rolled steel products export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 58% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, overseas purchases of flat-rolled products of iron or steel (not further worked than hot-rolled) increased by 186% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a pronounced downturn. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
