Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Senegal (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Baby food imports into Brazil fell remarkably to X tons in 2021, with a decrease of -56.1% against 2020. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 49%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Argentina (X tons), Mexico (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of baby food imports to Brazil, together accounting for 95% of total imports. These countries were followed by Ireland, Germany and the United States, which together accounted for a further 4.2%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +74.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Argentina ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Mexico ($X) were the largest baby food suppliers to Brazil, with a combined 93% share of total imports. Germany, the United States and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 5.6%.
