The Brazilian market for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments declined notably to $X in 2021, waning by -23.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the peak figure at X units in 2020, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments declined sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 411%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

Argentina (X units) was the main destination for exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from Brazil, accounting for a 58% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments to Argentina exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Peru (X units), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Cote d'Ivoire (X units), with a 4.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Argentina stood at +2.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Peru (+31.8% per year) and Cote d'Ivoire (+60.5% per year).

Paraguay, Colombia, Cote d'Ivoire, Honduras, Chile, Morocco, Sudan and Fiji lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Colombia, with a CAGR of +74.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average export price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments amounted to $X per unit, falling by -75.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a abrupt downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 183% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then fell notably in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Guatemala ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, purchases abroad of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments decreased by -31.2% to X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Overall, total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 72%. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
In value terms, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments contracted markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 65% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest non-woven, felt and coated textile garment supplier to Brazil, accounting for a 73% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Paraguay (X units), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Mexico (X units), with an 8.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Paraguay (+163.5% per year) and Mexico (+3.8% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments to Brazil, comprising 68% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by Paraguay, with a 6.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to -1.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (+3.5% per year) and Paraguay (+119.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for non-woven, felt and coated textile garments stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 23% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per unit), while the price for Cambodia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Honduras (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
