The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +79.1% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 35%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, ketone and quinone exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
The Netherlands (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Argentina (X tons) were the main destinations of ketone and quinone exports from Brazil, with a combined 54% share of total exports. These countries were followed by India, Belgium, Vietnam, Mexico, Turkey, Nigeria, Singapore, Uruguay, Colombia and China, which together accounted for a further 32%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +44.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Vietnam, with a CAGR of +48.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average ketone and quinone export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 36% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a mild decline. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Brazil
Ketone and quinone imports into Brazil skyrocketed to X tons in 2021, rising by 41% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +68.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 48%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Overall, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +39.8% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 45%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest ketone and quinone supplier to Brazil, with a 32% share of total imports. Moreover, ketone and quinone imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, South Korea (X tons), twofold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Spain amounted to +17.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (+65.2% per year) and China (+1.3% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of ketones and quinones to Brazil, comprising 37% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Spain ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with an 8.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to +5.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+14.8% per year) and India (+11.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average ketone and quinone import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, declining by -7% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 39%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
