Imports into Brazil
In 2022, imports of lemons and limes into Brazil declined dramatically to X tons, dropping by -22.2% on the previous year. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 101%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, lemon and lime imports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a slight setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Uruguay (X tons), Argentina (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of lemon and lime imports to Brazil, together accounting for 99.9% of total imports.
