The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 530% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, lifting equipment exports declined notably to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 328%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Chile (X units) was the main destination for lifting equipment exports from Brazil, with a 45% share of total exports. Moreover, lifting equipment exports to Chile exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Malaysia (X units), threefold. Argentina (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Chile stood at +14.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Malaysia (+82.8% per year) and Argentina (0.0% per year).

In value terms, Chile ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for lifting equipment exports from Brazil, comprising 50% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Argentina ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Peru, with a 9.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Chile totaled +9.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Argentina (-0.3% per year) and Peru (+22.3% per year).

In 2021, the average lifting equipment export price amounted to $X per unit, declining by -8.7% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a pronounced downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 142% against the previous year. In 2021, approx. X units of lifting equipment were imported into Brazil; declining by -34.8% against 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports recorded a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 1,137%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, lifting equipment imports dropped markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 203%. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Belgium (X units) constituted the largest supplier of lifting equipment to Brazil, accounting for a 44% share of total imports.
