In general, total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, nail and bolt imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of nail and bolt to Brazil, accounting for a 55% share of total imports. Moreover, nail and bolt imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), eightfold.
