Exports by Country

Colombia (X tons) was the main destination for aromatic monoamines exports from Brazil, accounting for a 90% share of total exports. Moreover, aromatic monoamines exports to Colombia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Mexico (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Argentina (X tons), with a 0.9% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Colombia amounted to +426.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (-17.6% per year) and Argentina (-29.2% per year).

In value terms, Colombia ($X) remains the key foreign market for other aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, salts thereof exports from Brazil, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Mexico ($X), with an 8.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Argentina, with a 1.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Colombia totaled +299.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (-15.1% per year) and Argentina (-27.0% per year).

The average aromatic monoamines export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -21.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed measured growth. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aromatic monoamines imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

China (X tons), the United States (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of aromatic monoamines imports to Brazil, together comprising 71% of total imports. These countries were followed by South Korea, Slovakia, Germany and Mexico, which together accounted for a further 23%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for South Korea (with a CAGR of +76.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of other aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, salts thereof to Brazil, comprising 53% of total imports. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the price for Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
