Printing Press Market Size in Brazil

The Brazilian printing press market skyrocketed to $X in 2022, growing by 15% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, saw a deep contraction. Over the period under review, the market reached the maximum level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from Brazil

In 2022, printing press exports from Brazil dropped significantly to X units, shrinking by -46% against 2021. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 94% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, printing press exports amounted to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 67%. The exports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Guatemala (X units), Mexico (X units) and Argentina (X units) were the main destinations of printing press exports from Brazil, with a combined 51% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Guatemala (with a CAGR of +47.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Argentina ($X), Mexico ($X) and the United States ($X) were the largest markets for printing press exported from Brazil worldwide, with a combined 45% share of total exports. China, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Paraguay, Bolivia, El Salvador and Finland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 23%.

El Salvador, with a CAGR of +270.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average printing press export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 103% against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted a noticeable increase. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Finland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (+87.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Brazil

In 2022, the amount of printing presses imported into Brazil expanded significantly to X units, growing by 11% on 2021 figures. Overall, imports, however, saw a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, printing press imports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 51% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Italy (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and China (X units) were the main suppliers of printing press imports to Brazil, together accounting for 62% of total imports. The United States, Turkey, Germany, Spain and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 32%.
