The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +94.3% against 2016 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Venezuela (X tons), Angola (X tons) and Ghana (X tons) were the main destinations of sausage exports from Brazil, with a combined 56% share of total exports. Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Japan, Congo, Cuba, Liberia, Singapore, Haiti and Paraguay lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Nigeria (with a CAGR of +184.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Venezuela ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for sausages and similar products of meat exports from Brazil, comprising 34% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Angola ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Ghana, with a 7.1% share.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
