Television Receiver Market Size in Brazil

The Brazilian television receiver market expanded to $X in 2022, picking up by 2.4% against the previous year. Overall, consumption recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Television receiver consumption peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, television receiver exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 553% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Argentina (X units), Colombia (X units) and Chile (X units) were the main destinations of television receiver exports from Brazil, with a combined 78% share of total exports.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 373%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, television receiver imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 314% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X units) was the main supplier of television receiver to Brazil, with a 98% share of total imports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), with less than 0.1% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at -10.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (-50.5% per year) and South Korea (-41.8% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of television receivers to Brazil, comprising 71% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($X), with a 0.5% share of total imports.
