Moreover, glass fibre fabrics exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Argentina (X tons), threefold. Colombia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 11% share.

In value terms, Argentina ($X), Chile ($X) and the United States ($X) were the largest markets for glass fibre fabrics exported from Brazil worldwide, together comprising 48% of total exports. Peru, Colombia, Uruguay, Paraguay, India and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.
Among the main countries of destination, Russia, with a CAGR of +95.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average glass fibre fabrics export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 66% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible setback. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uruguay (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Brazil
After four years of growth, overseas purchases of glass fibre fabrics decreased by -63.7% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw measured growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 72% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibre fabrics imports fell dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 38%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest glass fibre fabrics supplier to Brazil, accounting for a 67% share of total imports. Moreover, glass fibre fabrics imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Spain (X tons), with a 9.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China amounted to +12.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+22.5% per year) and Spain (+25.4% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of glass fibre fabrics to Brazil, comprising 59% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at +6.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+4.1% per year) and Spain (+0.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average glass fibre fabrics import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 2.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 8.2% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
