From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Greece (X units) was the main destination for baby garment exports from Bulgaria, with a 48% share of total exports. In value terms, the largest markets for baby garment exported from Bulgaria were Greece ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), together accounting for 82% of total exports. Armenia, Spain, Cyprus, France and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 8.6%.
Cyprus, with a CAGR of +34.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+12.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, purchases abroad of babies’ garments and clothing accessories (knitted or crocheted) increased by 70% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, imports showed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 77% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, baby garment imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 84%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Hungary (X units), Poland (X units) and Turkey (X units) were the main suppliers of baby garment imports to Bulgaria, with a combined 55% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +131.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
