The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 51% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Romania (X units), Ukraine (X units) and Greece (X units) were the main suppliers of glass bottle, jar and container imports to Bulgaria, with a combined 57% share of total imports. Serbia, Turkey, Moldova, Poland, China, Italy, France and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
