The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 195% against the previous year. In value terms, bromides, iodides and oxids thereof imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 64%. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of bromides, iodides and oxids thereof to Bulgaria, with a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, bromides, iodides and oxids thereof imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X kg), twofold. Belgium (X kg) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany stood at -1.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+17.7% per year) and Belgium (-14.4% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of bromides and bromide oxides, iodides and iodide oxides to Bulgaria, comprising 65% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 3.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany amounted to +5.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+10.7% per year) and China (+15.0% per year).

The average import price for bromides and bromide oxides, iodides and iodide oxides stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 44% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a strong expansion. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
