In 2021, purchases abroad of cadmium decreased by 0% to X kg, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. In general, imports posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 135%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X kg. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cadmium imports totaled $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 124% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
