Romania (X square meters) was the main destination for ceramic tile exports from Bulgaria, accounting for a 37% share of total exports. Moreover, ceramic tile exports to Romania exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Greece (X square meters), threefold. Italy (X square meters) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Romania totaled +3.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Greece (+20.8% per year) and Italy (+40.2% per year).

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 26%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, ceramic tile imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw noticeable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 40% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

Turkey (X square meters), Spain (X square meters) and Italy (X square meters) were the main suppliers of ceramic tile imports to Bulgaria, together accounting for 67% of total imports. These countries were followed by Poland, Slovenia, India, Germany and Romania, which together accounted for a further 28%.
