The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 90% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

Greece (X units), Serbia (X units) and Iran (X units) were the main destinations of fire extinguisher exports from Bulgaria, together accounting for 83% of total exports. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Italy and North Macedonia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 7.5%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Italy (with a CAGR of +45.5%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of fire extinguishers imported into Bulgaria fell to X units, with a decrease of -8% compared with the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, fire extinguisher imports rose slightly to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. In 2022, China (X units) was the main supplier of fire extinguisher to Bulgaria, with a 92% share of total imports. Moreover, fire extinguisher imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X units), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Greece (X units), with a 3.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at +3.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+14.6% per year) and Greece (-10.2% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of fire extinguishers to Bulgaria, comprising 76% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 6.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Greece, with a 4.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to +5.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+13.4% per year) and Greece (-5.1% per year).

In 2022, the average fire extinguisher import price amounted to $X per unit, rising by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a mild expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
